N. Myrtle Beach, SC…2007 Masters Champion Zach Johnson, 2003 US Open winner Jim Furyk and two-time US Open winner (‘93 & ‘98) Lee Janzen are three of fifteen former Hooters Tour members to gain exempt status for the 108th US Open Championship, scheduled from June 9-15 at The Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, California.
 
This impressive list includes 2003 British Open champion Ben Curtis, 2003 PGA champion Shaun Micheel, David Toms, Steve Flesch, Jerry Kelly, Sean O’Hair, John Rollins, Scott Verplank, Camilo Villegas, Bubba Watson, Boo Weekley and Stewart Cink.
 
While these players were exempt from Local and Sectional Qualifying into the Championship based on their PGA Tour performances and world rankings, a group of former and current Hooters Tour members fought through Qualifiers to earn one of the remaining spots.
 
Current Hooters players Joey Lamielle, Kevin Silva, Andrew Dresser, Chris Devlin, Brian Bergstol and Travis Bertoni all qualified for the US Open. The group joined former Hooters Tour players Chad Campbell, Justin Hicks, Eric Axley, Jason Bohn, John Merrick, Scott Piercy Kevin Streelman, Chris Stroud, D.J. Brigman, Scott Sterling, Michael Letzig and 2007 Hooters Tour Player of The Year Casey Wittenberg.
 
In all told, 33 current or former Hooters Tour players will be in the field for the 108th US Open Championship, June 9-16, 2008 the Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, CA.
