Orlando, FL (January 28, 2010)…Ted Potter (Silver Springs, FL) carded a seven-under par 65 Thursday in the final round of The Hooters Tour’s Bridgestone Winter Series over the 6,978 yard, par 72 Rio Pinar Country club to garner his first win of the season.Potter, the 2006 and 2009 Hooters Tour Player of the Year, carded rounds of 66-68-65 for a three day total of seventeen-under par 199 and a two stroke victory over Scotland’s Russell Knox. Knox started the day one stroke back of Potter but managed only a six-under par 66 to finish all alone at fifteen-under par 201.
Potter takes home $14,545 for his victory, while Knox takes home $7,273 for his runner-up finish. With the victory, Potter moves into 6th place on the season long money list with $24,334, while Michael Thompson returns the top spot with $28.951 after a T-22 finish on Thursday. The top ten players on the money list at season’s end earn full exempt status for the 2010 Hooters Tour.
The Bridgestone Winter Series takes a few weeks off before teeing it back up at Forest Lake Golf Club February 17-19, 2010.
