Calabash, NC (February 11, 2010)…Brian Duncan (Mt. Pleasant, SC) finished what he started in rounds one and two, closing with a three under par 69 to capture the Carolina Winter Series event at Farmstead Golf Links.Duncan, a former Clemson University golfer, carded rounds of 66-71-69 en route to a ten under par 206 total giving the former Tiger a five stroke win over last weeks champion, Yoshio Yamamoto (Myrtle Beach, SC), who finished at five under par 211.
Matt McQuillan (Kingston, ON) finished in solo 3rd position after finishing at four under par 212 while Jake Scott (Strongsville, OH) posted three under par 213 and a solo 4th place finish. Zach Byrd (Calabash, NC) and Kevin Silva (Charlotte, NC) finished in a tie for 5th place at even par 216.
Duncan takes home $3,200 for the victory, while Yamamoto receives $1,600 for his runner-up finish.
The top 5 members at season’s end will earn full exempt status for the 2010 Hooters Pro Series.
The Carolina Winter Series travels to Crow Creek Golf Club next week for the final event of the series February 17-19, 2010.
